What you get
Your Stripe, your money
Payments land in your own Stripe balance. Forms never holds your funds and takes no percentage.
Three ways to charge
A fixed price, pay what you want, or a total your logic adds up as people pick options.
Cards stay with Stripe
Card details are typed into Stripe’s secure fields and never touch Forms’ servers.
Prices nobody can edit
The amount is calculated on the server and checked again on submit, so no one can change the price in their browser.
Any currency
Charge in the currency you choose, including zero-decimal currencies such as JPY.
Payments next to answers
Each response shows the amount paid and its Stripe payment ID, so reconciling takes seconds.
Set it up in three steps
- 1
In Settings → Payments, paste your Stripe publishable key and a restricted secret key.
- 2
Add a Payment question and choose fixed, pay-what-you-want or calculated.
- 3
Publish. People pay on the step you choose, and every payment appears with its answers.
Free to start
Every plan includes this, Free too. One active form and 100 responses a month, no card needed.
Compare plansHow to make a payment form
A payment form is an ordinary form with a Payment question in it. Connect Stripe once in Settings → Payments by pasting your publishable key and a restricted secret key, then add a Payment question wherever the charge should happen, usually after the questions that decide the price. Respondents pay by card in Stripe’s secure fields and carry on to the ending. The response and the payment arrive together.
Fixed price, pay what you want, or calculated
- Fixed: one amount for everyone, such as a $25 workshop ticket or a $50 deposit.
- Pay what you want: the respondent types the amount. Good for donations, tips and sliding-scale fees.
- Calculated: logic adds up a variable as people choose, for example $12 per extra guest plus $5 for delivery, and the Payment question charges exactly that total.
What it costs
Forms adds no fee on top of your payments, on any plan, Free included. You pay Stripe’s standard processing fees on your own Stripe account, and the money settles to your Stripe balance on Stripe’s usual schedule. Forms never holds your funds.
Payment form examples
- Event and workshop registrations that collect attendee details and the ticket price together.
- Deposits for bookings: put a Scheduler question first, then a fixed deposit.
- Order forms for small menus or product runs, with the total calculated from what people pick.
- Donations with a pay-what-you-want amount and an optional message.
- Application or entry fees for competitions, courses and memberships.
Why the price can’t be tampered with
The amount is never trusted from the browser. Forms works out the total on the server from the published form and the answers, creates the payment with Stripe, and checks that the payment succeeded for that exact amount before the response is accepted. Card details go from the respondent’s browser straight to Stripe and never pass through Forms.
Payments, answered
Does Forms charge a fee on payments?+
No. Forms takes no cut of what you collect. Stripe charges its standard processing fees on your own account.
Do I need Pro to take payments?+
No. Payments work on every plan. You only need your own Stripe account.
Which Stripe key should I use?+
A restricted key with write access to PaymentIntents is the safest choice. Keys are encrypted when you save them and never shown again.
Can the price depend on answers?+
Yes. Choose “calculated” and Forms charges the value of a variable your logic builds, for example adding the price of each option someone picks.
Can people choose how much to pay?+
Yes. The “custom amount” mode lets respondents enter their own amount, which suits donations and tips.
